“My wish for women in the Catholic Church is to see the work of the sisters acknowledged since they are always ready to go an extra mile by going even where some priests will not dare or even accept to go when sent by their Bishops. Once the work is done and they finally join sisters in these remote areas, they are the ones getting recognition and forgetting that it all started by sacrifice of the sisters. I am not staying silence about the “kind of bullying” that goes on in some of our areas here in Africa. If women are ready to render services in the church, men (priests) always want to be rewarded once the same is asked for them! Who made religious subordinate to priests?! If we are dealing with working in the Sacristies or as Catechists sometimes without any payment, why should we pay when a priest comes to say Mass in our Houses? I am sharing this because of this inequality that has taken too long. How can we as the church talk about “Peace and Justice” whereas there is a lot of injustice in our Church and this is kind of being “the norm”?”
