Voices of Faith (VOF) is a flagship initiative by the Fidel Götz Foundation, a charitable trust supporting Catholic humanitarian projects since 1969. The initiative seeks to empower and advocate for women to be in leadership and decision making roles within the Catholic Church.
VOF started in 2014 as a storytelling event on International Women’s Day (IWD) at the Vatican that showcased Catholic women leading social justice initiatives and/or who worked for Catholic institutions. The intention was to act as a wake-up call to the Catholic Church to invest in women, to recognise their potential, importance and expertise and to re-imagine what the future of the Church could look like if only women were more welcomed to its decision making structures.
2019 represents an exciting stage of growth for VOF. We set up our head office in Rome in 2018, but are a truly global initiative with staff in Australia, Italy/Rome and Liechtenstein. We now have the opportunity to expand the presence in France and Spain, two countries that have been identified as important to our organisational strategy.
