“My wish for women in the Catholic Church is full equality not only in rhetoric but in actual practice. This means that all positions in the Church should be open to women including priesthood. They should be represented in all synods and conferences called by the Church with voting rights. They should be given important offices nationally and internationally. I'm no longer staying silent about the need for the Church to recognize the equality of women, about the present abuses suffered by them both in the hands of laymen and clergy, about the exclusion of women in decision making processes in the Church. I'm sharing this because the Church has to realize that women all over the world are not complacent or just content with their situation, also that women all over the world will have the courage to express their sentiments and express their desire to have full equality in the Church.”
